How to set up a class snack rotation
- Ask the teacher first. Which days need snack, how much, and what the food rules are. Get the allergy list from the teacher or the school nurse, not the group chat.
- Pick the dates. Start with a month. Remove holidays and early-release days with the ×.
- Fill in the families. Going down the class list in order is fair and easy to explain. Families who can't send food just don't get a date. No explanation needed.
- Send it once. Paste it into the channel the class already uses, and print one for the classroom door.
- Remind the day before, not the week before. One short message to the family whose turn it is.

Snack calendar FAQ
How often should families bring class snack?
Ask the teacher. Often one family covers the whole class for a day, so in a class of 22 each family's turn comes around about once a month. Some teachers would rather one family cover a full week. For that, pick just one snack day a week.
What if a family can't take a snack turn?
Leave them off. Not every family can send food, and nobody owes an explanation. Cover the day yourself, ask for a volunteer or leave it open. An empty line shows as (open) in the text you copy.
Is what I type saved anywhere?
Only in your own browser on this device, so it's still there if you refresh. We never see it and never store it. Start over clears it.
How do I save the snack calendar as a PDF on my phone?
Tap Save as PDF. On an iPhone, tap Share at the top of the print preview, then Save to Files. On Android, pick Save as PDF from the printer list. Then attach it to an email or upload it to the class app.
Can I share a link to my snack calendar?
Not yet. Nothing you type leaves your device, so there's no link to share. Copy the text for the group chat, or send the PDF.
